Do we need a lesson on White Privilege? Ok, listen up everyone…

When people cite White Privilege, they are not saying that life will automatically be easier because you’re white.

It is still perfectly reasonable to suspect that your life will suck as a white person.

We’re are not saying that being white is an automatic “get out of jail free” card, even though in certain circumstances it can be.

What white privilege means is that in a society dominated by white people, white people reap certain benefits that people of color cannot.

It is saying that you will not likely have to worry about your race possibly dictating the chance of you getting a job.

It means being less likely about being outnumbered in the general public.

It means not having to worry about your actions determining the perception of people who look like you, and having that perception harm those people who look like you.

It is saying that your race is far far far less likely to determine whether you qualify for a loan.

It is saying that it your race is far less likely to be a determining factor as to whether or not you get a house in the neighborhood of your choice.

It means that your race is far far far less like to determine whether or not you can get a date.

It means that your race is far far far less likely to dictate whether or not you’re considered attractive

It means that your race is far far far more likely to be the target of beneficial medical studies.

It means that your reproductive rights and children, are far far far less likely to be considered detrimental to society as a whole.

It means that your socioeconomic status is far far far far less likely to be used as a convenient excuse for the poor treatment of people of the same race as you

It means that even though you’re more likely to be in possession of illegal narcotics, because of your race, you’re far far far less likely to be stopped/pulled over/searched for suspicion.

It is saying that you are far far far more likely to be accurately represented in the media.

It is saying that you are far far far more likely to see people like you represented in the media in general.

It is saying that people are far far far more likely to take your presence and opinions seriously.

White Privilege means that you as a white person are more likely to be considered a full-fledged functioning autonomous human being simply because you are white.

No one is saying that you’re life cannot suck. I’m sure you have your shitty days just like anyone else regardless of race but…

We are saying that your life is far less likely to suck as compared to the life of a POC.

Because in this country as well as in any other white dominated society, white heterosexual people are the norm and anything outside of that definition is considered “other” and not as worthy of society’s time and effort.

And that is Fucking Bullshit.

So please shut the fuck up and educate yourself before polluting my dash with your ignorant bullshit.
